Moderately frustrated? So am I.
We live in a world of mass information, mass communication, and mass conformity. We are driven by emotions, feelings, and manipulation. To communicate means to sensationalize, pick a side, and stand your ground. What happened to simplicity, listening, and understanding? What happened to laughing over our differences, moving on, and having a drink?
Unfortunately, I am frustrated with our inability to communicate rationally while minimizing emotion. We are ultimately creatures of emotion and habit; modern media and social media understand this principle. Algorithms and patterns capitalize on these two idea to profit. Viewer numbers and sensationalism have replaced fact production.
Democrat or Republican, does it really matter? Do you honestly identify with either party?
I write this blog not to generate views but to generate awareness. I am a 30s-year-old male, frustrated about the direction of society, frustrated about sensationalism.
Take the time, whether it’s with family, friends, or independently. Pause, react, and calmly decide the next course of action.
I do not profess to say I follow the above principles. However, I remind myself everyday that moderation is key: moderation in consumption and moderation in emotion. In the end…
Be Nice.
